Is God Punishing Me?

Hello beloved! Merry Christmas! Let’s dive right into what we have for today.

Have you ever come to a point in your life where you believe that God is punishing you for something that happened in the past? or some bad events are happening to you right now and you are like God hates you and is against you that’s why all those things are happening?

I know! It has happened even to the best of us. But here is the truth: God loves you so freaking much that he could allow his son to die in your stead (John 3:16). Let’s think about it this way, you commit a crime say stealing and was tried, found guilty and sentenced to jail time. A man then walks up to you and says instead of you going to jail let his innocent son go in your stead. He is like, “my son is the guilty one and would take the punishment you deserve.” wow!

And that is exactly what Christ did; he took our guilt and declared us not guilty! (2 Corinthians 5:21).

“There is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his friends” – (John 15:13).

Why would God after giving you something so precious to him for you being guilty in the first place, start punishing for acts of sin you commit after he has declared you righteous? Or start giving you ill luck and start working against you?

If you think God is doing that, it goes to show that God is unstable, his nature changes and he is acting against the very things in which he stands for – love, forgiveness, mercy. Which is impossible! God does not change or can he change his mind towards you.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom is no variableness, nor shadow of turning” -James 1:17, KJV).

It’s in God’s nature to give and keep giving, to forgive and keep forgiving, to love and keep loving.

“Of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace” – (John 1:16,KJV)

When you are going through hard times and going down, God is not happy about it. He wants you to prosper and be in health much more than you even want to prosper

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you even as your soul is getting along well” – (3 John 1:2, NIV).

So next time you are going through hard times or a chain of bad events is happening run to God because he loves you and wants to help you. Rebuke the devil feeding your mind with negative thoughts and be strong in the Lord!

Ponder on this: “What then shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” -Romans 8:31-32, NIV.

Grace to your heart.
